Facebook confirmed the Incel message by the 25 yr-old responsible for the #TorontoAttacks is real. A sick individual radicalized on 4chan by the grievance culture that incubates hate speech & misogyny. If 4chan won't adhere to Canada's hate speech laws - shut down access #cdnpoli

Some have tried to defend hate speech as freedom of speech. This has become a loophole exploited with impunity by trolls, racists and ethnic cleansing advocates. Harper killed Section 13. We need to bring it back. http://nationalpost.com/news/politics/liberals-reviewing-option-to-revive-controversial-hate-speech-law-repealed-in-2013 … #cdnpolipic.twitter.com/wtQDr1Uo7s

This is a quote from Hon. @IrwinCotler debating against Harper killing Section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act. It's clear he was right & we need to bring it back in a modernized form. Here's the link to his full speech: https://irwincotler.liberal.ca/blog/hon-irwin-cotler-debate-on-bill-c-304-canadian-human-rights-act/ … #cdnpoli #incels #HateSpeechpic.twitter.com/l8vBbxRJ10

4chan is responsible for a lot more than this latest incident. There is a fine line between free speech and just vile hatred. Misogyny, racism and all hate based on race, religion or physical differences is unacceptable.

They'll never be able to legislate the internet. Never. It's world wide and now bigger than any government. Society has to regulate it. It belongs to the people.

Because it did not have a political/religious/ideological motive. It was inspired by hatred. Of women. Hence by definition it is a hatred crime. #Misogyny. Check it out. But i'm not opposed to change the definition of "terrorism" and call it that way if that pleases you.

OK, thanks! Your rationale makes sense. I kind of thought about terrorism as sprung from hatred as well, nevermind politics/religion/etc. But the distinction you’re making may be of significance.

Yes and by definition police will use the term if there is a treat to national security. Nevertheless it remains an hedious crime and it did inspired fears 😢

Provisions of freedoms allow you to say it, does not allow you to not be charged for it. If what I say incites another to violence ,I can be charged.

The FaceBook Russian bot debacle has made it clear that Internet posts should be subject to the same regulations as other media. There are too many ignorant and/or mentally unstable people around who can be incited to violent acts by reading hate posts against women and Muslims
