Uh… it would take a very long blog post that would mostly be “yes, and on the other hand…” Several cephalopods worth of other hands. Maybe biggest squid is that conceptions of “enlightenment” vary. So do people and paths. Uh, that’s just saying the same thing again!

I guess if the question is “is it dangerous,” the answer is “it can be, but not everyone has a bad time.” There’s no way to sure you won’t, but there are reasonable steps you can take to mitigate the risks. IMO. I’m not officially qualified to have an opinion. Vinay is.

OTOH, Vinay is generalizing from his knowledge of one system, in which he is fully accredited, to all Buddhist and Hindu systems, which seems a bit dubious. I’ve got lots more hands… On twitter, no one knows you are a tentacled alien from planet Zog

Re danger again, he’s talking about the consequences of full-time advanced practice for 5-10 years. The likelihood of a major freakout during that time is quite high. The likelihood of a breakdown if you do an hour a day plus occasional retreats is much less (but not zero).
