I still don’t fully understand JP’s program; but in Kegan terms, he seems to be leading from 3 to 4, whereas I’m more interested in 4 to 5. So, yes, I take systematicity (stage 4) for granted, mostly. Quantitatively, 3 to 4 is far more important! I just find it boringly obvious.

Yes, that is my impression too. But I’m not certain. Also, I suspect he simplifies (dumbs down?) his view for popular consumption, so it’s hard to know quite where he stands. Steelmanning his position, maybe: we’re in a time of excessive chaos, & so need more order temporarily.

He does talk about balancing order and chaos, and excessive order manifesting as authoritarianism.
