I have absolutely NOT thought this through… but I’ve been luck to have been able to participate in several exceptionally productive & creative scenes. Most dramatically the MIT AI Lab and Xerox PARC in the 1980s. So I think in terms of prototypes rather than principles…

Maybe the most important thing is just to gather a bunch of smart creative people and get them to interact without a lot of bureaucratic constraints and with enough funding that they don’t have to think about that.

They need to be diverse enough in background that they can spark new ideas in each other, but with similar enough interests/goals that they actively want to collaborate. Management needs to be hands-on enough to encourage shared projects, but hands-off enough to allow serendipity

I was a little surprised to see you speak dismissively about anarchism in comments on your blog. modern anarchist organizing in practice is constant meta-systematic reflection of ideological, temporal, and social commitments against goals (or emergent goals), with an eye toward..

.. reducing the influence of dominance via hierarchy. however, it doesn't exclude anything in practice - if hierarchical organization is needed, it is not excluded by principle. it's necessities, commitments, and duration are agreed to ahead of time, and dissolved as necessary

also I was having a conversation with @rechelon recently about your blog and he remarked that people think anarchism is a regression, but really it is demanding the most responsibility possible from the individual, as maximal autonomy requires less bureaucratization. it made me..

arenas where it makes sense to have more temporary approaches. e.g. I think laws could benefit from an agile approach. how we decide that together is its own process and requires very high functioning meta-systematic thinkers!

this is why I think your bridge to meta-rationality to save civilization is NOT an understatement! that part I don't know, but I think you are spot on to say that it's not a commitment to procedures that will get us there, it is prototyping (said elsewhere in this thread)

for me I think it's some parts searching out other people who have some signifiers of this level of function, organizing in affinity groups, and also projects such as yours. That still won't address the nihilistic gap, or even the stage 3 to 4 gap. From there, I'm all ears!
