Well a standard Bayesian story is that, yes, your priors don’t matter, because they wash out with sufficient evidence.
Afaict, it “works” only by fiat. You simply legislate that, yes, eggplants are evidence for green ravens. You are allowed to use the word “evidence” to mean whatever you like, but if it doesn’t line up with what other people mean by it, they’re unlikely to listen to you.
