Twitter has made a huge positive impact on my life. Lots of people complain about it, so I wanted to write some notes about how I use it. Love to hear others' strategies too.

As a rule, I only block spammers & committed trolls. The danger of blocking, I feel, is that you're just defining your own bubble. Unwelcome posters to my TL will disappear naturally if they don't become relevant in other ways.

That has been my approach too. I find that if I don’t argue with hecklers, they go away. If I find something to agree with, they sometimes become fans. This may be due to mere good luck; or not work for other folks, for whatever reason.
