Significant instead is the texture of personal experience: different according to social position.

can't a reference to a value inform someone whether the speaker has a more shared experience? Can it not lead you to expect more than certain kinds of post hoc justifications? (not just rationalizing practices groups happen to share, but things telling you who's in the group)
