Are there any mathematicians out there? Not math teachers. Mathematicians. Is it vital as a mathematician that you had memorized your times tables?

9x7? Um, geez, what a pain. Well… it’s more-or-less 8x8, which is 64. 63 sounds plausible I guess.

I mean, 63 is definitely something times something, whereas 65 is nothing.

Yeah, did that for all the 9s. So 9x7 = 70 - 7. Eights are three doublings. Six is 2x3, and I probably knew the 6's up to 6x7 because that's a 7. 5 is half 10, 4 is two doublings, doubling is just add to self. I guess know the 3s up to 9 on a good day, so that's it.

Seems either this is not as weird as I thought, or UST affiliation is somehow correlated.
