I don’t know! The circumstances are a bit of a long story, which I’ve actually never told. I think they probably played some role, but in general it’s inexplicable when/why it happens. Although there often is some cognitive component.

This is a classic. There’s a sort of pun involved, on “emptiness” and “reflection” and “moon”, all of which are central metaphors in Buddhist thought.
