Shower thought: where do professors get tweed jackets with leather elbow patches anyway? I've never seen them in clothing stores in my life. Is there a specialty retailer just for it? Or do PhDs come with handbooks? Or is it like lightsabers, you have to sew the leather yourself?

At MIT we made the patches from beaver felt. Felting is an interesting tech; every STEM education should include it.
