I don't understand why falsificationism (in your view?) is supposed to be incompatible with Bayesian explanatory hypothesis search.

When you chose hypothesis B out of A, B, and C, based on empirical results, it is still falsificationism.

2. Hypotheses exist where existing theory is inadequate. When facing an anomaly, refine hypothesis and/or craft new model.

Epicycles seem like a good example - a just so model polished with more and more precise observation until it collapsed to a simpler model.
