I get shocked by the end of my lightning adapter, iPad cable. What could be going on?

Probably a bad ground connection. Are these two pin or three pin plugs?

Don't set device down on grounded surface (sink, etc) while charging. Don't want to ground entire street thru your phone.

If dry insulating material, wood, plastic, etc., that's fine. Any metal *should* be grounded so as not to become a shock hazard, but...

Don't want to be alarmist, but if you feel a tingle, stop doing that. Don't hold onto faucet while using electric razor.
