Chomping my way through this now. The initial chapters setting the scene where Garfinkel deviates from Parson’s.... goddamn, this is challenging stuff.

Next you could do the “Working out Durkheim’s Aphorism” book. Man that’s a tough slog! (Joke, mostly, not a suggestion. I felt I had to, and in the end was glad I did, but it was not any fun at all.)

I bought https://www.librarything.com/work/699484 for that purpose after quickly failing at Garfinkel's book. But then I never read it. Figures.

Heritage’s book is still not easy, but is a lot easier than Garfinkel himself
