AlphaGo shows you can brute-force the static evaluator if you have enough teraflops. Totally unsurprising:board games are trivial like that.
This is why chess is harder I think. The hinging values (space, material, initiative, etc. ) the evaluator measures are a bit more obscure

All board games are perfectly-crisp combinatorial optimization problems. That’s what computers are good at. Real life is not like that.
Yeah, I don't disagree at all that the world is much more complex. Maybe ~infinitely more complex.
