Yes… At one time chess was thought to be a critical test for AI. Then it turned out tree search makes it trivial if you have enough MHz.
Yes… I sort of think I actually know what is going on with those, and it’s not magic at all. But, can’t be confident without experimentation
"Uninteresting" is a little strong. Go *was* considered beyond the reach of modern-day AI techniques for a long time.
I think people learned something about Go, not anything about AI.
