I'm deeply grateful for any progress in this area, but wonder if blockchain is really the right tech to store every name and key.

Yeah, that’s one reason for my caveat re details. Do you know how big the current domain database is in MB? And how often it is updated?

Agreed - but I don't think they've got key management solved. Though I'm unsure it's solvable at all just via architecture.

One thing legacy DNS gets right is distributing the workload. Would prefer to see blockchain for roots, with delegation for domains.

Well… maybe that gets us back to the current problem that my computer will do anything the Venezuelan government (a cert auth) tells it to?
