Yes, that’s correct. Also “esoteric Buddhism” is a common term in East Asia that is ~ equivalent to “Vajrayana”/“Tantrayana.”

yes…A lot of Buddhist Tantra comes from pre-Tantric Buddhism, and I don’t know much about that either :)
