@meaningness do you know of anything kirtan-esque in buddhism, chanting with increasing tempo? It does wonders for my mental state.

Yes! This is found mostly only in tantric Buddhism, because music is considered a sensual indulgence in mainstream Buddhism.

In Sutric Buddhism, there is mostly only monotone chanting of texts, unfortunately.

the nyingma institute does super slow monotone chanting each week. The slowness has an effect on me but not same as kirtan.

needed to read the ritual instructions, so for a group ritual, they had to sync the reading to prevent cacophany.

Unfortunately, reading the instructions out loud mostly replaced the actual practice the text describes.
