@Awbery @Meaningness @St_Rev This got awfully complicated while I was veging out in front of the TV :-)
Working Fermi estimation problems on a long drive with @Awbery. There are 10^6 eggs in a truckload… Seems like a lot!

@Meaningness@Awbery Max truck weight in the US seems to be 80,000 lb, avg. egg ~2 oz. Counting truck, pallet and packing, less than 10^6 -
@St_Rev@Awbery@Jayarava nb also https://twitter.com/Meaningness/status/511176673744916480 … plus, truck length probably actually 7-8 meters, which brings closer 2yr estimate. - 4 more replies

@Meaningness@Awbery 10^2 x 10^2 x 10^2 = 10^6 sounds right. How many truckloads in a shipping container? -
@Jayarava hello from Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant! We approximated egg as 5cm^3, truck looked about 2x3x10m; =960,000 eggs. - 2 more replies
