The world runs almost entirely on software technologies that were designed by people without CS degrees. This explains why everything sucks.
@cwage Maybe it has nothing to do with degrees, and software is screwed up for unrelated reasons… which I’d like to understand & fix

@Meaningness software grew up being the part that was meant to be broken and fixed in iterations -
@cwage We had decent algorithms and languages for arranging things on the screen in the mid-80s. HTML and CSS are ridiculously crude.
