Sutric Buddhist practices are SUPPOSED to destroy your life. Using them to become happy and socially well-adjusted is just bizarre.
If that’s true, #mindfulness may be responsible for an epic unfolding mental health disaster.

@Meaningness I do get what you're saying about it being a danger for small subset of ppl. Having actively psychotic ppl meditate = bad news -

@Meaningness Anecdote: I do a "mindfulness group" at a public sector MH clinic. Most people fall asleep during the guided meditations. -
@bramble Interesting… one of the first things meditation often reveals is how sleep-deprived most people are now.
