The assumption that "belief" is a natural kind (i.e. fundamental feature of reality) is pernicious but nearly universal due to Christianity.
@simplic10 @St_Rev As of 20 years ago, most cogsci people would say bimetallic-strip thermostats have beliefs. Dunno if still true.
