"Buddhist ethics" is neither Buddhist nor ethics. It is a set of rhetorical strategies for demonstrating membership in a high-status group.

@Meaningness many thanks for the example. Not sure the HHDL, as presented, uses sexual Buddhist ethics in this way. Others may do so. -
@vajramrita Yes, hhdl is just traditional. It's some of the "engaged Buddhists" who use "ethics" as a mark of social superiority.
