I'd be Millions of Dollars Richer if someone did one simple thing for me: A weekly check in where I must Show completion of my most important Project. If it's not complete, force me to reduce the scope.

Hell yeah. In fact, I've tried. Usually the person has been too far removed from my priorities to understand how to apply pressure. I haven't tried a Really High Priced Coach yet, though

Hmu. I've done this professionally, had others do it for me at times, and can probably model you-Gary-specifically better than most coaches? Based on shared experiences on various levels.

My default model of this stuff is it's some sort of self-limiting thing where people stop doing something because they know it'll work if they keep doing it and they aren't fully bought into the success (or their concept of what the success would include). idk if that's you.

That has to be somewhat of a factor. I think another part is there's "emotional discomfort" involved with the scope cutting and refactoring necessary to do what I have in mind ⏤ like you're killing a little bit of a fantasy. Does that make sense to you?

Yup. See the green image in this quoted tweet below, for @xuenay talking about this and how it relates to buddhist taṇhā. Full long thread: https://twitter.com/xuenay/status/1248643701347319811 …https://twitter.com/Malcolm_Ocean/status/1253830394299985920/ …

That was one of Phil's sentences I think... It's good, I think I'll steal the idea for the page on creation I'm sort of writing now! Coincidentally I am just now reading this page of _Design Unbound_ in a section on improvisation...pic.twitter.com/idRUucKrVJ
