Perhaps this is why I more often claim to be an engineer than claim to be a scientist? [I’m not really either; I just fake capacities on twitter]https://twitter.com/Di4naO/status/1254502818758701057 …

When would you say it's indispensable for someone to maintain a self-introducing blog page @ which they try to very finely define the limits of their knowledge, skills & learning competencies? I am tempted to make such a blog page myself, to avoid wasting others' numbered days.

Not sure I understand the question... It seems like it might be a worthwhile project

a retry: since I have no credentials / expertise I want to warn readers that "[a] is what I've evidently tried to learn, [b] is what I claim to have read, [c] are skills i can demonstrate w/in the following time-spans, [d] is what i'm interested in, [e] is how to reach me," etc

I don't want to mislead readers into thinking I assume a state of knowledgeability about any topic at all. ^that^ sort of about-me page (concisely hyper-linked @ the top of each blogpost) might help readers to save time for the sake of dodging an amateur's 1st takes on stuff.

Oh I see! Well that’s a noble intention, but I think mostly everyone knows that a blog is not necessarily reliable, and exercises adequate caution when reading one

"mostly everyone" hmm... how do you figure that to be the case?

Just a vague impression!
