Contemplating the possibility of death in the short term—always present, but more likely now—has changed my writing priorities. Better to polish and publish short conclusory bits than to continue work on large works that consist mainly of preliminary conceptual explanations.

Yes, please. They are not mutually exclusive, to me. But I still agree. I have read much of your work and it swirls in my mind like scattered rings of space dust. There is some core I am still missing, which I am confident will lend mass to, draw in, and ignite the rest.

How to less poetically express? "A central idea with a body of thought around it is more valuable than either alone, because it suggests how one might extend that central idea in other places while still acknowledging the difference between frames, which is kiiinda important."
