Half an hour of hardcore meta-rational discussion by the @blackgoatpod team, starting at 36:00 (context starting 32:00).
If you want to know what meta-rationality sounds like, this is best example I’ve found so far. (Explanatory

Meta-rationality is not systematic rationality applied to itself: The discussion has no set framework, no taken-for-granted axioms or agreed-on methods. Everything is open to question and potentially up for grabs. These are top people in their field trying to make sense of it.

Meta-rationality is also not “mere reasonableness”: this discussion is highly technical, its subject matter is experimental methodology, and it takes understanding of rational principles and methods for granted.

A presentational difficulty for me: meta-rationality always involves mastery of the technical specifics. I can’t get readers up to speed on multiple sciences, so each case study will inevitably involve a lot of vague handwaving.

I planned to write a long post about this 30-minute discussion, but eventually realized that explaining the relevant technical specifics of experimental psychology was going to be too complex.

So I guess I recommend listening to it impressionistically, if you don’t have the background. Ignore unfamiliar terms and concepts, and see what you can get out of it!http://www.theblackgoatpodcast.com/posts/auxiliary-turtles-all-the-way-down/ …
