Psychologists claim some behaviors are caused by things like defense mechanisms, which in some weird way tries to make a rational case for what otherwise might be called irrational behavior. So rationality appears very subjective.

Okay, fair enough. I’m enjoying reading your hypertext, but its nonlinear nature, my infrequent entry to different starting points and inevitable interruptions means I have much more to consume and digest. I find popular shades of meaning of “rational” intriguing.
