Also the possibility that alternatives decide to take on the superficial branding of "universities" while operating very differently. Sorbonne in 1500 and Sorbonne in 2020 are the "same university", but without the name, you'd barely be able to tell.

Yes rhink that’s plausible. If alts and unis cut deals, the big question would be who gets how much power to shape the structure (and how that changes over time).

All this talk of brands and nothing about the current model, namely that the default expectation is four full time years minus summers to get an undergrad degree. A change to this default would be as or more significant than what’s discussed.
