“Interior design” as a profession feels so divorced from its actual purpose: creating spaces that people actually enjoy spending time in, that don’t induce stress and tension, & that suit the purpose of the moment -thoughts from a hellish waiting room w/ poor circulation

Increasingly sensitive to a key problem with design: if you don’t have to use whatever you’re designing, can you be sure you’re creating something people actually enjoy? Applies to interior designers, product designers, architects, more.

Often the end user is not the customer, so there’s the added problem that the person making the buy decision has different knowledge and desires than both designer and user
