Yesterday I had the Shingrix vaccination. They said "you may have flu-like symptoms tomorrow; could possibly last several days." I was like yeah yeah I don't think so. Totally SLAMMED me today. Anyway, PSA, if you are 50+, get this vaccine... on a Friday. Take the weekend off.
It’s officially recommended by the US CDC. You might be able to use that to convince a doctor to give it to you. (Or, you may not need a prescription. i vaguely recall it was something about the vaccine not being effective enough (didnt last for more than X years and you can only get one shot in your lifetime) or had problems and that i should wait until i was older

It’s possible that was the previous shingles vaccine, “zostavax,” which basically didn’t work. Shingrix is apparently much more effective. fwiw
