im 58 and the health system my docs are in (Prisma Health, largest in SC and one of largest in southeast) arent prescribing this one yet. i cant recall the reason but i discussed it w my dr.

It’s officially recommended by the US CDC. You might be able to use that to convince a doctor to give it to you. (Or, you may not need a prescription. Yeah- friend of mine has life totally blighted by shingles in eye and head. Decades of unending, overwhelming pain. Get vaccinated!

YMMV, but wife had same experience with both initial and booster. Note: we're talking about the not-a-live-vaccine version of shingles vaccine. No idea what Zostavax is like. OTOH, fair price to pay to avoid suffering with shingles outbreak.

Has the supply problem improved? I’d heard that there’ve been problems receiving the second dose on schedule due to demand/supply and a recommended interval of 2 to 6 months.
