Jung is not my usual beat, but I did write seven essays of a nine-part series on his Shadow archetype, starting here:https://buddhism-for-vampires.com/we-are-all-monsters …

Two essays in the series are still IOUs. One is on the Wise Old Man/Woman archetype, who has become centrally important in the atomized era, conspicuous through absence. Jordan Peterson (discussed briefly in the Todd/
@vervaeke_john video) embodied that archetype for many.2 replies 0 retweets 9 likesShow this thread -

Peterson surely isn't a good wise old man? He’s too wannabe for that’? Performative and needy - and I like him!

What I was suggesting was that many people related to him as that. Whether he was an adequate embodiment is a different question. (Whether anyone CAN be an adequate embodiment is a further question…)

Ah yes that makes sense, and it is all relative... One can easily forget one is in one's mid 40s, unfortunately. Did you consider yourself in role?? I have another favourite: https://twitter.com/antlerboy/status/788004639736299520?s=21 …https://twitter.com/antlerboy/status/788004639736299520 …

Surprisingly many people want me to be a Wise Old Man for them. I have deeply mixed feelings about that. Somewhat irrelevant currently because I’m prevented by concrete circumstances, but I may have to figure out how to work with the archetype and projections in future
