Huh. I don't remember the early kindles being better and then getting worse and I've had one from pretty early on. In what way?

Amazon ended up hiring some ebook people from Microsoft, who hired their friends, etc. etc. I remember talking to some lower-level Amazon people who were quite unhappy, and said the Kindle division was an MS old boy's club with its own broken culture that wasn't very amazonian.

"Just increase the e-book price" to that point where the overall revenue maximasation is reached. Why wouldn't that work. Infact this is precisely the kind of thing they are specialised in. Aren't they?

I don't think Amazon have that much control over the ebook prices do they? They're mostly set by the publishers.
