A fun competition: take a short and very clean program, say 500 lines of code, and introduce a subtle bug, and then run competitive debugging competition to see who can find it fastest, based on a glance at the code.

You might even just flash it before competitor's eyes, say for 30 secs, and ask them to identify the most likely location for the bug. I suspect variants of this would yield some spooky results.
