A no-spoilers crib sheet (if that’s feasible?) for people new to the story would be a very helpful prerequisite. Or, if not that, then one could read a plot summary after each episode, so it would make sense retrospectively.

I think if you like this sort of thing, then its not making any sense would not be a big obstacle. It’s an extremely good example of the sort of thing it is, even without any plot.
