I was going to make a joke about how philosophers pretend metaphysics is a serious subject, but if you go to your local bookstore you’ll find that it’s actually about holistic healing crystals. Then I realized there aren’t any bookstores anymore. Also, no healing crystals.

I'd think holistic healing woo was trying to fill the gap previously filled by spells, alchemy, prayers, etc, and which has been deleted from social acceptability by scientific materialism, or squeezed into the "placebo/nocebo effect."

'Neodecadance'. It's hard not to notice rise of decadent culture in relation to tech, politics, science, art and ethics. It took over spiritualism because decadence scales better. I could name a lot of examples, but just look at the sentiment shifts in society across last 10 yrs.
