we assembled a bed frame a couple of weeks ago, put in a part backwards that we realized near the end and would have required disassembling almost the entire frame. decided to just drill the necessary hole all the way through the wood so it came out the other side

Not my coinage… it’s actually derogatory in its original use. I don’t know or don’t remember who that was. Their objection was that Dreyfus was using Heidegger as a ventriloquist’s dummy and making him say what Dreyfus thought instead. (This is somewhat accurate.)
