On the notation being poorly explained... a thing I've always struggled with is I get rows and columns mixed up in matrices until I realised (in the last year!) that matrices follow the way you would write it out in simultaneous equation.
Yeah, that’s good. More generally I think some crossover from CS ways of thinking into math should help a lot with teaching, even if not with research. (I could be wrong on either half of that!)

I don't actually know how much of the way I think about and teach maths has been informed by CS. Not none, certainly, but it feels like a continuous refinement of things I already believed about maths education when I was a pure mathematician.
