Three years ago, this beaver dam was pointlessly destroyed by a malicious monkey with a chainsaw. The builders had to abandon the whole area. Delighted to discover that this year, beavers are back this year and rebuilding!pic.twitter.com/jQJ9lWsKr8

They haven’t got the dam height up to where it was yet. (Next year’s job.) All this area was submerged before the vandalism.pic.twitter.com/Vi492T0auW

Beavers’ lumber camp, with fresh cuts and woodchips on the ground. This is young alder, no more than 5” in diameter. Probably young beavers; it takes several years for them to gain full size and strength. Older ones take down 75’ tall trees, well over a foot in diameter.pic.twitter.com/sAWbR3Z48v
