Sometimes the benefit of technical terms is just that they signal that you’re approaching an issue technically, i.e. in a constructive, objective, solution-oriented manner, as opposed to using the issue as an excuse for shaming or grandstanding.

There have been times when I *only* understood a concept once it was expressed with x’s and y’s, even though you could have expressed it fully with English words, because the symbols prompted me to think structurally rather than emotionally.
