This astounding spectacle—Corvus Corax’s Cantus Buranus II—is my prototype for a contemporary Western Vajrayana ritual. (It’s also clearly the best opera performed by heavy metal musicians on authentic Medieval instruments EVER!)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsFyIN7_txU …

Can you clarify in what way these have anything to do with Vajrayana? I would have thought the commodification and showmanship would mean they are anything but.

Showmanship is the essence of tantric ritual! Explanatory tweet storm incoming I guess… Commodification is not in the least alien to tantric ritual, either; in historical practice, fundraising was one of their most important functions. Not essential in principle, though.

I’m not sure which of my several websites you found… The answer to your question is given on them. If you make it more explicit, I can answer more specifically. In short: Buddhism has unique resources for addressing contemporary problems.

Why do you think no one is able to call me out? Why do you think I'm making it up? I can cite scripture and/or authoritative Tibetan texts for pretty much all of it. I don't because no one in my non-academic audience cares.

Right, OK, you seem to have a pervasive misunderstanding of what I’ve written. If you are interested in clarifying your understanding, I’m happy to help. Otherwise…. maybe it would be best to drop this now.
