@Meaningness - while revisiting your ngöndro post, I noticed something I'm confused about...
It seems Aro is dzogchen (ie too close, too accessible, too present, etc), and that you were* following the Aro school.
*(I think you recently said somewhere you had left... something?)

But in this post... > "So ideally someone would invent a ngöndro that efficiently induces emptiness, is well-suited to contemporary people, and is in the style of contemporary Buddhist tantra." ...the colorful tantra, or the ultra-simple dzogchen?

I guess I'm asking a few things here: 1) what school has your practice been in? one of those? both, alternatingly? 2) what is it now? 3) how is your practice similar to / different from your more theoretical studies/priorities?

& are you writing about tantra here because http://vividness.live is a site about reinventing buddhist tantra, as opposed to dzogchen?
...except it definitely says a bunch of things about dzogchen, and is also definitely framing things in terms of dzogchen perspectives...2 replies 0 retweets 3 likesShow this thread -

Yes, the general approach is “tantra with Dzogchen flavor.” With rare exceptions, I don’t try to explain Dzogchen because that’s... extremely difficult… and lots of other people are trying (and mostly failing imo) so I’d just be adding confusion.

Almost no one else is even trying to explain Buddhist tantra in a way contemporary Westerners could understand without a lot of prior background.

You *can* say a lot about tantra conceptually. Tantra is about the proliferative experience of the sense fields, and for Buddhism concept-consciousness is a sense field. Baroque complexity is great, for Tantra! There’s practically nothing to say about Dzogchen conceptually.
