Perhaps the point is that, while there were thinkers here and there that had metamodern (or proto-metamodern) tendencies in the past, it couldn't emerge as a socio/cultural/political movement until the internet.

I find great personal, systemic & cultural value/overlap from all these lenses. My intention here is to get our disparate 'meta' camps to engage more with each other in the name of generative exploration. Throwing some more nebulosity into mix I suppose.

I worry about this for “meta-rationality,” which I was first to use more than in passing. Unfortunately my work on it was interrupted by circumstances starting 3 years ago, and I haven’t had the opportunity to explain clearly and in detail what I mean by it.

Since then it’s escaped into the wild, which is great because people find it useful, but I do worry that it may get distorted into meaning something other than I intended, and then using it in the original way will be difficult when I get back to working on it.

@GregDember + V and V. It's pretty large and diverse itself, as witnessed by recent European MM culture/literature conference. Lots in print by busy academics without time to promote on soc media! -
There are slightly divergent usages w/in academia of course; it's just that we abide by guidelines of scholarship--supporting and developing the term with an eye to some amt of coherence.
