The Best Kept Secrets of Peer Code Review - https://amzn.to/2Y0hfr0 A handbook of how to do code review well, and how to make it effective. It's from a pre pull request era so a bit dated, but still good!

Epistemic Injustice by Miranda Fricker https://amzn.to/2jNz5LY You need to be able to read Philosopher for this one, but if you can I think it's well worth while. I like some of the later work on this subject more than this book, but the book is worth reading as a foundation.

How to talk about books you haven't read by Pierre Bayard https://amzn.to/2jN1G45 Great book on the nature of books and reading, and how they sit in a cultural context. Despite the subject matter I've read it cover to cover twice.

Sherlock Holmes Was Wrong by Pierre Bayard https://amzn.to/2laApsB Presents the method of Detective Criticism as a way to suggest an alternate (and, to my mind, convincing) interpretation of the mystery of The Hound of the Baskervilles and discuss the nature of fictional worlds.

Queer: A Graphic History by Meg-John Barker https://amzn.to/2laANax Queer theory in graphic novel form. Very accessible for what is normally a fairly impenetrable subject. Can be read in an afternoon, and is very much worth reading.

The Strategy of Conflict by Thomas Schelling - https://amzn.to/2XQiGZG How to reason about positive sum games, especially diplomacy. Very accessible given only a little bit of background in economics and game theory. Significantly improved my reasoning about people's behaviour.

The Collected Schizophrenias by Esmé Wang Weijun - https://amzn.to/2XVELq9 Autobiographical essays. Ends up being "about" the intersection between mental and physical health and (not wholly positively) spiritual practice. Not sure how much I learned, but so many Feelings.

Style: Towards Clarity and Grace https://amzn.to/31Odcf8 A book about writing style, with a focus on how to ensure you are writing clear, direct, and simple prose. I like its advice a lot, but am also probably going to be super self conscious about my writing for a while.

I read "Style: Towards Clarity and Grace" as a result of its mention in "Clear and Simple as the Truth" (https://amzn.to/2PjremE ), which I'd recommend with caveats: I think it's an excellent book for thinking about writing style, but I don't actually like the style it advocates.
