I noticed I'd stopped reading nonfiction recently and realised this was because I didn't actually want to read either of the books I had on the go. It's surprisingly hard to notice the difference between not being in the mood for something and finding specific instances aversive.
Both of these are ones I’ve thought for a long time I ought to read and yet SOMEHOW keep failing to. Hmm

FWIW my reasons for stopping: * Feminism is for Everyone: I'm already reasonably on board with the conclusion and familiar with the history, so not getting much out of it. * Beginning of Infinity: I disagreed with enough that I'd rather argue with someone about it than read it.

Beginning of Infinity cont: I'd describe myself as... about 70% in agreement with the book, but there's a bunch of crucial details in the 30% that I feel like he glossed over, and his characterisations of other people's work is often based on fairly shallow misreadings of it.

I’ve also been meaning to read Sorting Things Out for many years, just flipped through for the gist long ago, and am now reading and loving it. Thank you for championing it!

Glad you're enjoying it!
