Anyone have a take on the PG&E shutdown that isn't just jabbering about capitalism and climate change? Also, five days would suck but after Hurricane Andrew my mom had no power for three months, also her roof was missing. So y'know this shit isn't unheard of in ancient days.

Plausibly this is a manufactured crisis designed to prepare the populace for a propaganda campaign along the lines of “the only way to have reliable electricity is to transfer all PG&E’s liability to the state, and also give them $10^11 to fix stuff.”
