While I'm asking "is it just that I'm weird?" questions. Something I've noticed as a novice meditator is that an *enormous* proportion of my randomly-arising thoughts are very verbal - hearable, even - and focused on explaining things to others. Am I weird? (1/2)

Most often, I'm thinking about explaining something to a specific person. Given the context, often my meditation mentor, since the thoughts are about the experience I'm having. But I often imagine explaining ideas to Dawn. Less often, it's a generalized "someone". 2/2

It's like: so few of my thoughts are *for myself*. They're mostly about my self-identitification as an explainer. I mean: explaining things is what *I do*. And have done for decades.

Same. This was one of the most interesting things I discovered when I started meditating seriously. Viz, what do I mostly think. It was: mostly explaining things. I suspect "mostly explaining things" is atypical, but "whoa, I had no idea *this* was mostly what I think" is typical
