I wish philosophy was not taught mostly through the medium of history. Like I wish we'd just teach people how to think. I'm so bored by legacy and deprecated ideas that no longer apply.

Fwiw I think that’s where the value is. Philosophy is a huge collection of appealing but wrong ideas, with explanations of why they are wrong. One is likely to reinvent and adopt them without the warnings. Philosophy rarely comes up with good ideas, but no one else does either.
