@_awbery_ @Meaningness Sorry for the imposition. Are there podcasts aimed at meditation beginners, esp. Vajrayana? "Buddhist Geeks", "Deconstructing Yourself", "Imperfect Buddha" are all fine, but the finer points of enlightenment, stream entry, etc. are not... applicable to me.

There’s quite a few meditation-for-beginners podcasts (according to my podcast app
@OvercastFM). I don’t know which (if any) are good, unfortunately. For Vajrayana, Unfettered Mind by@kenmcleod might be worth a try. Not aimed at beginners or mainly about meditation though!3 replies 0 retweets 1 like -

Talking about it this morning, trying to think of any apps or podcasts that are specifically both for beginners and Vajarayana and, nope, can’t think of one. Everything I know of is Mahasi style. There is a wide open gap for beginners approaching Vajrayana!

There's a reason for the gap. Vajrayana is not for beginners. It assumes a certain level of capability and a certain level of experience.

Most available instruction for starting meditation is nowadays in the Mahasi style. If you believe it’s possible to approach Vajrayana as a path in its own right, directly via meditation, (which I do) then there’s room for more instruction for beginners in the style of Vajrayana.

Is Aro gTér unusual in its Vajrayana-first approach?
